Sharing Our Proud
Past
The seemingly never-ending COVID-19 Pandemic necessitates that we spend much, much more time at home. This new normal upsets our daily routines and limits our movement somewhat! The catchphrase is “Stay home, stay safe”.
The good news is hobbies
are plenty to pass the boredom at home. Recently, I started vegetable gardening. To my
surprise, the solitude of tending to a
garden can really soothe and stimulate the soul. It was such a joy
looking after the greens and yes, it is also rewarding. Organic vegetables are
nutritious, tasty, and pesticide-free! Well, that’s my outdoor hobby.
My other hobby is
blogging. I had actually been blogging some years ago but I gave it up due to
work pressure. Somehow, the MCO lockdown presented me with the luxury of
free time. Lying idle or watching too much television is certainly unhealthy in
my golden years as it doesn’t stimulate the mind. So I returned to blogging –
blogging about something that I have always been passionate about – the Lions
fraternity! This pastime allows me to reminisce about the good old times, be
creative, and more importantly, share my vast collection of decades-old
memorabilia and MD308 Lions Convention Reports. The Agenda for every Lions Convention may be the same, but the
events and programmes have their own narratives. Totally different!
I hope the readers
will reflect on these Convention Reports as there are always lessons to be
learned from the past, for the present, in preparation for the future! That
is precisely why conventions are documented. If you have reports that are not
seen here, please scan them and send them to me. We should share our rich Lion’s
heritage!
